I know I’m in a transitionary period of life. It’s a time of uncertainty, of struggle, of courage and of faith. I remember what life was like before, I remember what I was like before and it’s like oh my goodness, this is why we grow. And if you’re attuned to yourself, you will see your growth and know your change before anyone else does. It’s not like when you’ve lost or gained weight without realising but everybody and their mailman will point it out to you. No. This is change you will feel first and you will know it for yourself. Furthermore, when the world does see you in transition it may not understand it, you will get questioning glances, and even the scornful ones..because while they do not understand, it will never stop them from having an opinion. But I’ll tell you what, you have a mission in this life to be true to yourself. Let nothing and no one stop you from realising it. It will require time and effort and energy, you will need to know yourself, you will need to love yourself because you need to live and not just exist in this life.
Steve Harvey shared his thoughts on this to a live audience after a taping of his show, Family Feud. He talks about jumping, of trusting in your God given gift and taking chances.
“You cannot just exist in this life. You have got to try to live. If you are waking up thinking that there’s gotta be more to your life than it is, man believe that it is. Believe in your heart of hearts that it is. But to get to that life you’re gonna have to jump. See God gave every last one of us a gift at birth …”
It spoke to me. His sentiment was just so profound and provocative. And perhaps I was just ready to receive it. You know that right thing at the wrong time feeling? Where this all makes sense..but it’s just not the right time for me, or I would love to do this..but.. In all honesty, no time will be right until we make it right. It’s a leap year, it’s a leap day..we get extra time. God gives us that. But we could have all the time in the world or no time at all, what matters is what we do with it. Take the time, find the time, take yourself and jump into your gift. Just go for it. You will be judged and scorned regardless if you’re standing still or running rampant. You might as well face the negativity for being who you are and for taking the chances that mean something to you. You will find that as long as you’re living the life that truly represents you the positivity will come.
And this is why the transition is important. You will remember who you were and build who you are going to be. It is the point wherein you are growing and jumping and taking chances so you won’t just exist, but you will live.
