a poet’s despair

Sunlight beckons as moonlight leaves

and cool spring’s breath flows through the trees

face upturned I scan the sky

the turning earth the passage of time

what should I hope for

what should I wish

that all the nights I’ve longed for

what I have come to miss

and daylight approaches reminding

no longer exists

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted any poetry, yet alone even written any but I’m reminded that anything unpracticed withers. And this is a part of me that I never want to fade.
